Friday Night is Music Night!

Our next music night is Friday 24th November in the Church Room.  The music starts at 7.30pm.

Do come and join a small group who meet to listen to a programme of recorded classical music chosen by Terry McCarthy.  The music is varied and the whole evening a very relaxed affair; you really do not need to be a music expert. This time we will hear Mahler’s “Das Lied von der Erde” (Song of the Earth). Programme notes are supplied.

The programme lasts for about an hour and we have time then for a tea/coffee or a glass of wine – and a chat!  New ‘listeners’ will be made very welcome.

Entrance fee £3 – free for Friends of St Mary’s.

Reverse Advent Calendar

ADVENT begins on 3rd December this year. Again we would encourage anyone who is looking for a different thing to do to try the Reverse Advent Calendar.  Many of us enjoy, or remember enjoying, opening the little boxes on our Advent Calendar. Why not also join us to give something back as well?  Find an empty box or basket and each day put something inside to give away. By Christmas Eve or a few days before you will have a box full of items to donate to a local charity.  If you are unsure where to donate, look for more details next monthadvent

Our new prayer meetings continue this month so do please come and join us if you are free.

Pilton – 2nd Wednesday of the month 6.00pm in Church 8th November

Dinder – 4th Wednesday of the month 6.00pm in Church 22nd November

And don’t forget morning prayer in Croscombe church at 8.30am every morning.

As the weather gets colder we will probably decamp to a warmer location!!

Our Benefice Study Group offers the opportunity to explore a little of the riches of God’s word and his presence with us in Jesus, using a study course by Paula Gooder as a discussion starter.
Come and join us at Higher Farm, North Wootton for a fortnightly study group on Mondays at 10.30am.
It is a very informal group, with time for questions and digressions.
This group is for all four parishes and we would be pleased to see people from all the villages.

ALL SOULS – Date for the Diary

This year our All Souls service is on Sunday 5th November at 4.00pm in North Wootton Church.

If you would like some time to remember someone close to you who has died, do please come along and join us. Everyone is welcome to attend whether your
bereavement is recent or longer ago. There will be an opportunity to light a candle in memory of those who have died.

If you know anyone who might find this service helpful, please let them know; you will all be most welcome.                                Rev. Chris
