This year our All Souls service is on Sunday 5th November at 4.00pm in North Wootton Church.
If you would like some time to remember someone close to you who has died, do please come along and join us. Everyone is welcome to attend whether your
bereavement is recent or longer ago. There will be an opportunity to light a candle in memory of those who have died.
If you know anyone who might find this service helpful, please let them know; you will all be most welcome. Rev. Chris
Are you someone who wants to pray but who finds it easier to pray with other people? If so, or if you have a heart to pray for our church and community, please do come and join us as we introduce two monthly prayer meetings from October:
Pilton – 2nd Wednesday of the month 6.00pm in Church
from 11th October.
Dinder – 4th Wednesday of the month 6.00pm in Church
from 25th October.
As the weather gets colder we will probably decamp to a warmer location!!
We have decided to trial moving the day for the Benefice Communion. It will now be on Thursdays after the North Wootton Café at 12.15pm; do come along and join us if you can.
If your study of the Christian faith is limited to the sermon slot on Sundays our Benefice Study Group offers the opportunity to explore a little of the riches of God’s word and his presence with us in Jesus
We shall use a study course by Paula Gooder as a discussion starter. You are invited to join us at Higher Farm, North Wootton for a fortnightly study group on Mondays, October 16th and 30th at 10.30 am. Very informal, all questions may be asked, digressions allowed! This group is for all four parishes and we would be pleased to see people from all the villages for this Autumn term.

THE FRIENDS of ST MARY’S, CROSCOMBE
Friday Night is Music Night!
Our next music night is Friday 29 September in the Church Room. The music starts at 7.30pm.
Do come and join a small group who meet to listen to a programme of recorded classical music chosen by Terry McCarthy. The music is varied and the whole evening a very relaxed affair; you really do not need to be a music expert. This time we will hear Acts I, II and III of Purcell’s ‘The Fairy Queen’. Programme notes are supplied.
The programme lasts for about an hour and we have time then for a tea/coffee or a glass of wine – and a chat! New ‘listeners’ will be made very welcome.
Entrance fee £3 – free for Friends of St Mary’s.
Our Harvest Thanksgiving Service is at 11.00am on Sunday 17th September. Gifts of foodstuff and produce to help decorate the church will be gratefully received before 10.30am on Saturday 16th September. If it is more convenient, non-perishables can be left in church earlier in the week. The foods will be delivered to Grace Harris House in Shepton Mallet the following week. They are always very grateful for our yearly gift.
We hope you have had a super summer and a great start to the new term! We won’t be meeting in September as it is so close to the end of the holidays. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 1st October.
YOS is open to children of all parishes in Year 6 upwards. We meet in Dinder Village Hall on the 1st Sunday of each month 6.00pm-7.30pm. For further information please contact Sandra Kirkham 342221 or Becky Gilbert 676739.
On Friday 15 September from 10.00am until 8.00pm at Anthony and Hilary Austin’s, The Brambles, Pilton.BA4 4BH (890561).
The new catalogues are now available with a wide selection of Christmas cards and gifts to choose from, as well as other Traidcraft products. Bring a friend and come and have a coffee and a chat.
