Friday Night is Music Night!

THE FRIENDS OF ST MARY’S, CROSCOMBE
Friday Night is Music Night!

Our next music night is Friday 30th November in the Church Room.  The music starts at 7.30pm.

Do come and join a small group who meet to listen to a programme of recorded music. The evening is very relaxed and you do not need to be an expert. You are even allowed to say you didn’t like it! This time we will hear Symphony No 9 by the Austrian composer Anton Bruckner. Short programme notes are provided.

Do come along. The music lasts for about an hour and we have time then for a tea/coffee or a glass of wine – and a chat!  New ‘listeners’ will be made very welcome.

Entrance £3 – free for Friends of St Mary’s.

Contact Terry (345139) or Jenny (345405) for more details.

ADVENT

ADVENT begins on 2nd December this year. Again we would encourage anyone who is looking for a different thing to do to try the Reverse Advent Calendar. Many of us enjoy, or remember enjoying, opening the little boxes on our Advent Calendar. Why not also join us to give something back as well? Find an empty box or basket and each day put something inside to give away. By Christmas Eve or a few days before you will have a box full of items to donate to a local charity. If you are unsure where to donate, look for more details next month.

PILTON REMEMBRANCE SERVICE 11/11

There will be a short Act of Dedication of the names that have been added to Pilton War Memorial at 10.50am. This will be followed by the Act of Remembrance before moving to the Parish Church for the Remembrance Service.

It would be good to see as many local residents as possible as well as relatives of Cecil Bailey, Cecil Clerk, Cornelius Higdon, Frederick Higgins and Norman Lomas, whose names have been added to honour the one hundredth anniversary of the end of the First World War.

“When you go Home, tell them of us and say,

For your Tomorrow, we gave our Today”.
