United Benefice on Sunday 30th April at 11am to say farewell to Rev’d Elaine Brightwell

This Sunday is a United Benefice Service at 11am held at Croscombe (NOT North Wootton) to say farewell to Rev’d Elaine Brightwell.

After the service there will be a “bring and share” lunch (finger food only) at the Seventh Day Adventist Hall in Croscombe (we can use their car park behind the hall).

Please come and join us in saying a very fond farewell to Rev’d Elaine.

The Swainsons and Friends

We are delighted to announce that the String Quartet, ‘The Swainsons and Friends’ returns to St Mary’s on Thursday 4th  May at 7.30 pm for a concert featuring an ‘eclectic’ programme of music! Those of you who were present in 2014 will know that it is not to be missed! Tickets £6 and Friends £3 (under 16 free) will be available from early April from the above committee members and on the door. Wine and soft drinks will be available for a suitable donation.  Fuller details in the May Roundabout.


Good Friday – Friday 14th  April

‘Making the Easter Garden’ –Dinder Church 10.00am – 11.00am

Please come and join us for the annual making of the Easter Garden, to be displayed outside the church over the Easter weekend. This will be followed by hot cross buns. Parents are welcome to come and join in. Children under 3 will need an accompanying adult.

Easter Service and Easter Egg Hunt – Sunday 16th  April 11.00am

After the service there will be the traditional Easter egg hunt! All children from any parish welcome to the service and the hunt afterwards. All children would need an adult to accompany them to the service and the hunt afterwards.


We do hope you will join us at one of our services over the Easter period.

On  Maundy Thursday, 13th  April, in a service of Holy Communion at Croscombe Church at 7.30pm, we shall follow further events of Holy Week as we mark the Last Supper that Christ shared with his disciples.

Good Friday services will be held at Dinder at 12noon, North Wootton at 2.00pm and Pilton Parish Church at 7.30pm.

On Easter Sunday we will celebrate the Resurrection with services of Holy Communion in all our churches: Pilton at 8.00am, North Wootton and Dinder both at 9.30am, and at Pilton Parish Church and Croscombe Church at 11.00am. The service at Pilton will be a joint Anglican and Methodist service with clergy from both churches taking part.

Everyone is very welcome at any of the services to celebrate this special season.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 14th – 20th May


There will be events in each of the villages during the week;

Saturday 13th May – soups, puddings and entertainment in Dinder        Village Hall

Sunday 14th May –cream teas and plant sale in North Wootton Village Hall

Thursday 18th May – coffee evening at Ruth Eavis’, Pilton

Saturday 20th May – coffee morning at Jan Hodge’s, Croscombe

Mossy Church!

Come and join us for Mossy Church on Saturday 8th April at 10.30am

We meet at North Wootton Village Hall and then go out to explore the Wild Life Garden.

Yes, that’s Messy Church again with added outdoor fun.  We plan to build a Willow Den in the Wild Life Garden and prepare palms for Palm Sunday.

Finishing up with lunch.

Traidcraft has been operating since 1979 and tries to fight poverty through trade, working alongside their producers listening to what they want and helping them to connect with their buyers. They also run a development programme to help small scale farmers and artisans to develop.  Any profit which I make from the sale of Traidcraft products is used to support this work.
