Benefice Discussion Group

conversation

There are currently two different groups meeting in our Benefice.

We continue to meet in North Wootton fortnightly on a Monday morning at 10.30am. Currently we are looking at St John’s Gospel.  For further details please ring Andrew Pugh (890535).

Our second group, in Dinder, also meets fortnightly on Thursdays at Sharcombe Farm at 2.00pm, where we will be looking at “Return of the Prodigal Son” by Henri Nouwen. For date details, contact Rev Chris.

If you would be interested in joining us, please either purchase the book or E-mail Chris on butlerchristine19@gmail.com so that she can order enough books.

Christian Aid Week Total

Christian_Aid_Logo.svg

The total raised from the events held and envelopes collected from Pilton, Croscombe, North Wootton and Dinder during this year’s Christian Aid Week amounted to £3146.04.

This was only made possible by the enormous effort of all those people in our villages who organised events and carried out house-to-house collections. A big thank you to everyone and to Tim and Gwen George who held plant sales at all our events and at Collett Park.

We are always looking for volunteers to help during the week, especially a few more people to do house-to-house collections, so if you feel you can help please do let us know.

CHURCH SERVICES ON 29th JULY

There will be a United Benefice Service of Holy Communion at 9.30am Sunday 29th July for our four Parish Churches at North Wootton.

At 11.00am there will be a Pilton Churches Working Together United Service at Pilton Methodist Church to celebrate and thank Revd Nick Lakin for his ministry in Pilton. Nick has been the Methodist Minister responsible for Pilton Methodist Church as well as Circuit Minister in the local area for the last 13 years. He has been a keen, supportive member of Pilton Churches Working Together and members of both the churches in Pilton will be attending his final service here to wish him well as he moves to the Minehead Circuit.
